Heavy Water Plant at Tuticorin employs the ammonia-hydrogen mono-thermal exchange process to produce Nuclear Grade Heavy Water, Tuticorin , Tamilnadu.
To meet the requirements of 2nd stage Indian Nuclear Power Program(INPP), Tuaman Engineering Ltd is awarded prestigious project of “Solvent Production Plant for production of Organo phosphorus solvents” including Butanol Recoveryfor Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC). This project involved several Engineering challenges like plot area constraints, compact design & stringent requirement set by Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) and approval layers. Engineering department of TEL performed Basic Engineering and Detailed Engineering in accordance with Heavy Water Board (HWB) contract requirement and Technical requirements in FEED documents. The plant is now in the phase of commissioning and TEL in continuing Commissioning support- as on when required.
